Calendar of Events
Communities in our Black Hills celebrate events as unique as the community itself, from Gold Discovery Days in Custer to the Film Festival in Hill City to Neutrino Days in Lead. Free outdoor summer concerts are held weekly in Rapid City, Spearfish and Belle Fourche.
Rodeos have a remarkable history in western South Dakota. Top rodeos in the Black Hills include the Day's of '76 Rodeo in Deadwood, the Black Hills Roundup in Belle held over the Fourth of July weekend, the Mt Rushmore Rodeo at Palmer Gulch and the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo in Rapid City.
A bucket list event is the Crazy Horse Volksmarch when visitors get to walk to the top of Crazy Horse Memorial. Add to your Black Hills experience and plan your trip around one of our great events.

When you think of bull riding many things come to mind but picture this, a 2,000 pound bovine being conquered by a man with no fear. This is part of the tradition of Bull Riding! The cowboys that carry on this tradition are known as the gladiators of the arena, the bull riders of the PBR, and they're coming to Historic Deadwood South Dakota, June 2021! These two elements created the PBR. Bull riding is one of the most extreme sports known to man and the best of the best belong to the Professional Bull Riders. In the world of professional sports the PBR brings the top bulls and the top riders to fans all over the country. The Deadwood PBR offers the same elite bulls and bull riders you see on your television every weekend. Bull riders such as Matt Triplett, Gage Gay, Jess Lockwood and Chase Outlaw (just to name a few) as well as 9 time stock contractor of the year Chad Berger Bucking Bulls. This will be the ultimate showdown at the Deadwood PBR Touring Pro Division.
