Here are some exciting places in the Black Hills you can book or recommend for visitors:
| Mount Rushmore: Carved from a mountain of solid granite the four faces of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln loom majestically above the monument area below. The monument features a visitor area where original film footage of the mountain's construction can be viewed. A President's hiking trail gives you great access along the foot of the mountain. Before this new addition, you could only see Mount Rushmore from a distance. This developed trail is accessible to everyone. There is a parking fee, but no entrance fees. |

Crazy Horse Memorial - Awesome in scale, this mountain-sized sculpture of Sioux leader Crazy Horse astride his warhorse is a tribute to the American Indian. Now in it's 65th year, the face of Crazy Horse is emerging as the fifth granite face in the Black Hills. A very enriching experience to see one of the largest mountain carvings in the world. Devil's Tower: Indian legend claims the tower was formed when seven children jumped on a rock while running away from a giant bear. The rock grew, carrying the children from safety, but the bear clawed at the tower as it grew, leaving deep grooves in the sides. The great crevices were thought to have been the scratch marks of the bear's claws. In actuality the formation of Devil's Tower is the core of an ancient volcano. For some reason the core cooled fast and created the crystalline fissures that form the mountain. There is also a nice nature trail and walking path that surrounds the tower. Admission Fee. |

Wind Cave National Park - The Black Hills feature one of the world's oldest dry caves. There are 44 miles of underground tunnels and caverns in this unique ancient cave. The Wind Cave National Park features not only the cave, but a park are with wildlife galore. It is situated in 28,060 acres of rolling grasslands that features a huge prairie dog town and deer wandering in the park. Therefore Wind Cave is actually two unique parks in one. This is a perfect place for handicapped access. The tunnels are wide and fairly even and the cave features an elevator so young or old can enjoy. Admission Fee. |

The Badlands National Park - or "mako sica" as it is known to the Lakota people, is a place of mystery, spirituality and natural beauty. Located near Wall, South Dakota the Badlands National Park consists of 244,000 acres of sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles and spires blended with the largest, protected mixed grass prairie in the United States. Custer State Park - Want a place that has it all? This is the place. Custer State Park has 73,000 acres full of lakes, fishing, swimming, camping, lodges, cabins, hiking, scenic drives through the Needles and grassland areas, and wildlife galore. There is a park fee and you want to call for reservations because they are busy all season. Vehicle Pass. |

Mammoth Site - Experience one of the world's greatest fossil treasures. This ancient spring fed sinkhole is believed to have trapped up to 100 Columbian and Wooly Mammoths along with many other ancient animals and plants. This is an active dig site that has been enclosed to further the digging. Therefore no matter the time of year or the weather this attraction is always open. It is an educational treat for young and old alike. Scientists from all over the world come here to study these ancient bones. This is open to the public and has an admission fee. Admission Fee. |

Deadwood, SD - Whether you enjoy going back in time by visiting an old western history museum or playing the quarter slot machines at one of the local casinos, Deadwood offers a truly unique experience to any visitor. As you stroll through main street Deadwood, you literally feel as if you are back in the days of the wild west. Many casinos offer you a place to eat, so if you don't want to leave you have that option to stay and have dinner/lunch. If you would like to stay the night many casinos have lodging as well. |
