Explore a typical sod homesteader’s life in pioneer clothing. A real western adventure including farm animals and rare white prairie dogs.
The Prairie Homestead is one of the only original farm sod homes intact today. This pioneer home was built in 1909 of dirt bricks and a grass roof. These early pioneers came West looking for land where they could fulfill their dreams. Family attraction. History room, with optional video presentation. A walking tour of the sod home, root cellar, outhouse, chicken coop and barn can be experience at your leisure. Experience the lifestyle of your pioneer ancestors.
